JAZZ - The David Truilo Trio

Brooklyn-based saxophonist and composer David Truilo is a well-regarded band leader and sideman throughout the NYC area. He appears frequently in New York clubs, including Smalls Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Club, and Ornithology. International appearances include residencies with his band at both the Copenhagen and Aarhus Jazz Festivals. A graduate of The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, David also studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. The opportunity to play with musicians from all over the world has deeply rooted his work in collaboration and community, and confirmed his belief that music is an act of selfless communion.

Micheal Francis Gilbert is a New York City based bassist ,improviser and composer working in creative music and jazz.

Jacob Patrone is a drummer, improvisor, and educator based in New York City by way of Hartford, Connecticut. As a multi-faceted musician, Jacob strives to reach across discipline and genre to create and reshape contexts of musical textures both familiar and new. Through study with Hal Galper, Andrew Cyrille, and Buster Williams at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Jacob developed a deep relationship to rhythm and sound steeped in the aural tradition of creative music. He has performed in venues and clubs across New York City such as Lincoln Center, The Jazz Gallery, Smalls, Mezzrow, The Stone, Close Up, among others. Jacob appears regularly as a sideman and bandleader in New York, including performances with artists such as Emmanuel Michael, John Hébert, Brian Marsella, Felix Moseholm, Noah Stoneman, Maya Keren, Harish Raghavan, Jon Elbaz, Matt Knoegel, Tim Watson, and more. Dedication to a life in creative music is also a dedication to a life of empathy, deep listening, and patience. Jacob is always seeking new ways to develop in these facets, through the acts of expression and investigation with like-minded musicians and the listening audience.
