Originally conceived in 1996 by Canadian saxophonist, David Aaron, The Henery Lipetz Trio has consistently played original music that can only be described as, "jazz...sort of".
David generally works as a freelance musician, instrumental music teacher, composer, as well as a producer. He also regularly provides music for live theater pieces and countless short & full-length films.
He was the creator/producer of the Improv At The Khyber series in Halifax, Canada, which ran in conjunction with the Atlantic Jazz Festival. The series featured internationally-known musicians in an intimate gallery setting and was always a festival favourite.
He has performed at legendary venues such as The Apollo Theater, Knitting Factory (NYC, Brooklyn & Hollywood), The Bottom Line, The Stone NYC (@New School), Minton’s Playhouse, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, Hammerstein Ballroom, Fillmore NYC@Irving Plaza, Lincoln Center "Out Of Doors", Vans Warped Tour, B.B. King Blues, CBGB’s, as well as at The Metropolitan Opera.
