Stan Zenjov / Keenan Ruffin Duo: Keenan Ruffin is a Teacher, Guitarist, Composer, Drawer, Dancer, and Writer based in the city of Brooklyn. As leader of the Keenan Ruffin Dance Band they created elastic, highly textural technical jazz that drew on the dance band tradition with modern jazz performance practice. In their current practice, they use the guitar as a form of meditation and mapping emotional experiences on the instrument using melody, harmony, sound design, and groove.

Stan Zenkov is a New York based multi-instrumentalist and improviser who works across genres. He plays clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor and alto saxophones, and cornet with a focus on improvisation and experimental music as a means of inquiry into the mysteries and transformative properties of the human perception of sound, and exploration of music as universal folk ritual.

Keenan and Stan have been paying together as an improvising duo and in various small groups for about a year.

Gían Pérez: Gían Pérez is a multi-disciplinary artist, improviser, and composer from Puerto Rico, based in Brooklyn, NY, whose work focuses on the elucidation, fermentation, and subversion of form. Pérez has worked with artists like Brandon Lopez, gabby fluke-mogul, Elliott Sharp, Marc Edwards, among others and performed at venues like The Stone, Downtown Music Gallery, and Joe’s Pub. By extending the guitar to its extremes as a physical material, Pérez denatures the electric guitar beyond its ascribed historical identity, envisioning a language that was never conquered and had instead been left to govern itself.
