Morgan Price is a saxophonist and woodwind specialist based in New York City.
As a member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra since 2009, he has toured across the globe performing at venues such as the Beijing Opera House; the Hollywood Bowl; Suntory Hall in Tokyo; the Saint Petersburg Philharmonia; the Moscow International House of Music; Parco della Musica in Rome; Verdi Auditorium in Milan; Lisbon Cultura Center; Budapest Congress Center; Tel Aviv Culture Palace; the Mexican bicentennial; Seoul Jazz Festival; Jarasum Jazz Festival; Johannesburg Jazz Festival; and for HM Bhumibol, King of Thailand. Musical collaborations with the orchestra include artists such as Macy Grey, Brian McKnight, Jazzmeia Horn, and Patti Austin, as well as with the Pacific Symphony; the Buffalo Philharmonic; and the Richmond Symphony.
Morgan also served as the featured saxophone soloist for the Tony Award-winning show Fela! On Broadway at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre, as well as both international tours, including sit downs in Amsterdam; Adelaide, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand; and Lagos, Nigeria. This experience led to a decade-long association with Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra beginning in 2011, with global tours to Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Japan, and Hong Kong; multiple performances at Carnegie Hall; recording on their 2020 Grammy-nominated album Fu Chronicles; as well as collaborations with artists such as Angelique Kidjo, Davido, Coldcut, Bettye Lavette, and others.
